How to Look After Your Timber Building from Elfords

Garden workshop

All our claddings are a Premium Grade slow grown and selected pine typically taken from a good fifth redwood board, which undergoes a kiln-drying process.

This process removes moisture from the wood, which is crucial for increasing its stability, strength, and reducing the likelihood of warping, shrinking, or twisting after installation.

This makes it ideal for use in outdoor structures such as sheds, workshops, garages, and summerhouses.

We would advise you have your new building dip treated by us at the time of manufacture. This involves the panels being submerged into a tank containing a water-resistant, water-based treatment that offers protection against mould and fungus.

We then recommend your building is treated externally as soon as possible with a good quality brand of preservative. For this, we would recommend Elfords solvent-based MLX Sheen.
