Prices vary depending on size, cladding and any extras you’d like to make it your own. Every timber building includes free delivery and assembly onto a suitable base within our Hampshire and West Sussex catchment area.

We don’t install bases ourselves, but a firm, level base is absolutely essential — your building will only ever be as good as the ground it sits on. An uneven surface can cause doors to stick and floors to twist, and may affect your guarantee.
We can recommend trusted local groundworkers if you need a new base. A concrete pad or level paving slabs are ideal, and we can also supply loose timber bearers to sit on top of the base to boost air circulation under the building. Not sure if your base is suitable? We’ll arrange a site visit to check before we build.
Lead times vary throughout the year. In winter, delivery is usually within two to three weeks. In busier months, it can be six to eight weeks.
We’ll confirm your delivery date as soon as you pay your 10% deposit, and 99.9% of the time we’ll be there exactly when promised — the only thing that ever stops us is the weather (especially high winds).
It’s not usually a problem. Just let us know if access is through a house, round a tight corner, over a wall or under an arch, for example.
We can normally work around it, but if it looks as though it might be difficult, we’ll visit the site before we start the build to make sure everything is workable.
Yes. As a Registered Waste Carrier, Elfords can take down and dispose of your old shed safely and responsibly. Prices start from £120 depending on size and access. This covers the structure only — please clear the contents first.
Usually planning permission is not required, but it depends on the size, height and position of your building and its distance from the main property. Smaller garden structures are generally classed as permitted development, but we always recommend checking with your local council if you’re unsure.
Yes — regular treatment is essential for long life. Every Elfords timber building can be dip-treated before delivery, but we recommend applying a good-quality preservative such as Elfords MLX Sheen soon after assembly, and repeating this once a year. It helps protect against weathering, mould and fungus.
A solar shed has angled glazed panels along the front to let in plenty of natural light. They are ideal for growing plants or potting up. Elfords solar sheds come with a timber floor, fixed front windows and a single door as standard, with the option to add opening windows, shelving and other extras so you can personalise the shed to suit your needs.
Regular doors, fixed windows and flooring are included as standard, and you can choose from four different cladding options.
Because every Elfords timber building is handmade from scratch at our Portsmouth workshop (no flat packs or self-assembly in sight), you are welcome to choose different window and door styles, including opening windows and stable doors, plus optional extras such as shelving and more. It’s all about creating a timber building that suits your garden and how you plan to use it.
Yes. All Elfords timber buildings come with a 12-month guarantee, provided they’re treated promptly after installation and built on a firm, level base. Roof felt (the waterproof material on top) is also guaranteed for 12 months.
